Utilising Request-A-Bets for betting on horse racing
From Oliver Dickenson: May 2018

Special markets are growing so much in the betting industry that a percentage of punters now see them as being preferable to traditional means of betting. This is the same across all of betting, starting with football specials and moving over to horse racing specials, where we now see a surprisingly large level of depth for these sorts of enhancements.

Being able to combine certain match results, specific goalscorers, a number of goals, corners, cards and any other selections has seen SkyBet's Request-A-Bets work their way into the limelight for football betting but there's also arguably as much reason to bet on RABs when it comes to betting on horse racing.

Not many websites have given much exposure to horse racing Request-A-Bets but there are some places that indulge in it, like The Winners Enclosure, who even have their own Request A Bet page devoted to Sky Bet request a bet tips, recommended bets, previews, and some worthwhile odds from the RABs that they've picked themselves.

Why back a special over a traditional market?

As opposed to typical win or each way markets, Request-A-Bets offer the opportunity to back several different factors but all in one massive selection. This could be made up of a couple of horses to win and a couple to place put into one big bet but with stronger odds through not only being put together but also due to it being a RAB, as that can sometimes boost the price in itself.

It tends to be that you won't be allowed to cash out on special markets unless specifically stated but that doesn't put punters off backing them so frequently, as the odds can be so drastically enhanced that it's a far stronger bet than merely backing each selection in an accumulator.

What is included in horse racing request-a-bets?

As the Sky Bet Request A Bet has continued to develop, the options for how much you can include in them has been made more flexible to those backing them, with the possibilities now looking practically endless. Football RABs sometimes include other sports to boost the odds and horse racing specials are no different, with them sometimes including a select few football results.

Through running their own Request-A-Bet tips page, The Winners Enclosure post out their own RABs on a daily basis. They add in match results, Over 2.5 Goals or Under 2.5 Goals, as well as Both Teams To Score markets, which certainly liven up merely backing a couple of horses to win or place. At the rate that SkyBet Request A Bets are continuing to develop, it's exciting to consider how much flexibility punters will have in picking their own RABs in the years to come.
