Backed both teams mid season when Brisbane were $3.85 and Port $7.50. That was when St Kilda were running riot. At that stage, I was extremely pleased with my early bet on the Saints at $8, but the other two bets have now proven to be far better value.

Definitely would have Port closer to Brisbane in the betting for this game.

On potential,the Lions are certainties.
But the Lions didn't play up to their potential yesterday, and I see no reason why they might next Saturday.
Not that Port were all that exciting on Friday night.

At the time I was VERY pleased with the $8 I got on St Kilda, but how often do you see a team like Brisbane at odds of $3.85, so I couldn't pass that up. And I thought that if I backed Port at $7.50, I would just about have all the main chances covered. Melbourne was also riding high at the time, but I never really rated them. As it turned out, Geelong was the only team that could have upset things and they went damn close on Saturday night.

Dont think port are the same team of the last 2 years, if they were they would of chucked it it against the saints when the pressure was on, but they dug deep and the saints were the ones to "CHOKE", think it will be a lot closer than every one thinks, i'll tip the lions by 7,i know port were at home but i thought they were slightly better than the lions on the weekend.

The reason im so confident on the Lions is that the Cats are a quality outfit.
They have a good recent record against the Lions and a lot of the players for Brisbane that we all know are september stars were flat on sat nite. Does anyone seriously think Aker will be that quiet again this week?
Imagine all the practice Lynchy will be doing kicking for goal this week. He will thrash Wakelin. More importantly he killed Scarlett who hasnt been beaten all year, but just couldnt kick straight
Black was completely held,as if that will happen again.
The lions only got 40 inside 50's and still won. Their season average is 53 inside 50's.
I just cant see their midfield getting thrashed 2 weeks in a row. Especially not with weakies like Schofield,P.Burgoyne in the middle.I'll tell you this much as well. The Power were real, real lucky Gehrigs ton stopped the game for 5 minutes. They were rattled and apart from Roger James(great player) couldnt get their hand on the ball.
If those idiotic supporters hadnt run on the ground they would probly have another game of footy to go and watch this week.
It's easy to sit back and call someone a big mouth but at least when I make a big call like my prediction for this weeks GF I can give good reasons why it is likely to pan out a certain way. I seem to remember pointing out similar reasons why the Saints couldnt beat the Lions at the Gabba in the home and away season.
Why do you like Port Mo?
