Win Cash Prizes!

Tip a Winner Competition Rules

Cash Prizes

This competition is fun and free to enter each week. All you do is tip a winner from Saturday's races. The person who tips the winner at the best odds of $5.00 or better as published on the Sportsbet Australia web site wins and we'll give the winner a cash prize based on the number of valid entries in this competition OR the chance to play for at least $500 cash the next week. So read on ...

The winner will receive a cash prize of

$20 - for up to 59 valid entries.
$40 - for 60 or more valid entries.

BIG DOLLARS CASH PRIZE BONUS
Cash prizes up for grabs!

This is how it works.

1. When you win Tip a Winner with a first prize that is above, currently $20 and $40, we will give you the option when we declare "correct weight" for you to choose not to collect your cash prize but instead go all up to win at least $500 cash in the following week's Tip a Winner competition for outright first. (Pro-rata amounts if there is a tie for first apply of course.)

a) If your prize was $20 cash you can choose not to collect that $20 and instead play for a $500 cash first prize in the following week's Tip a Winner competition PLUS you will receive a $20 cash consolation prize should you tip a winner at odds of at least $11.00 that does not win you first prize.

b) If your prize was $40 cash you can choose not to collect that $40 and instead play for a $1,000 cash first prize in the following week's Tip a Winner competition PLUS you will receive a $40 cash consolation prize should you tip a winner at odds of at least $11.00 that does not win you first prize.

CASH BONUS PRIZES!

The $125 cash prize bonus

If you tip a winning horse at odds of $41.00 or better, but do not win Tip a Winner, if you win next week the cash prize you receive will be increased to $125 cash.

The $100 cash prize bonus

If you tip a winning horse at odds of $31.00 or better, but do not win Tip a Winner, if you win next week the cash prize you receive will be increased to $100 cash.

The $75 cash prize bonus

If you tip a winning horse at odds of $21.00 or better, but do not win Tip a Winner, if you win next week the cash prize you receive will be increased to $75 cash.

The $50 cash prize bonus

If you tip a winning horse at odds of $11.00 or better, but do not win Tip a Winner, if you win next week the cash prize you receive will be increased to $50 cash.

The $40 place cash prize bonus

If you tip a horse that places and pays a place dividend of $11.00 or better, if you win Tip a Winner next week the cash prize you receive will be increased to $40 cash.

NOTE: A winning tip can only win you one prize. So if for example you win any of the above Five Cash Prize Bonuses and collect the cash you are not also entitled to play for the $500 Cash Prize Bonus the following week.

THE TIPPING RULES

Entries close on Saturday at 12.30 pm. Sydney time. Only TIP FROM RACES that have an official starting time of 12.30 pm. or LATER, SYDNEY TIME.
The meetings you can tip from are provided each week in the first post:

Please make sure you understand the rules.

1. Each Wednesday or Thursday we will tell you the race meetings held on Saturday from where you can tip your winner and let you know the competition's closing time for the final post.

2. Each person is allowed one entry. In that one entry each person is allowed to tip two horses for the win. When you tip each horse give:

a) The race meeting.
b) The Race number of your tip.
c) The TAB number of your horse.
d) The name of your horse.

Example:

Randwick
Race 7
Number 1
Melito.

You should ensure that you correctly post the details of a), b), c) and d) above such as the correct race meeting. If the meeting is at Randwick you should post Sydney or Randwick, NOT Rosehill. If you post Rosehill then your entry is null and void.

a) If the meeting is at Canterbury, Randwick, Rosehill or Warwick Farm you can post Sydney for the meeting.
b) If the meeting is at Caulfield, Flemington, Moonee Valley or Sandown you can post Melbourne for the meeting.
c) If the meeting is at Doomben or Eagle Farm you can post Brisbane for the meeting.
d) If the meeting is at Ascot or Belmont you can post Perth for the meeting.
e) If the meeting is at Morphettville you can post Adelaide for the meeting.
f) If the meeting is anywhere else you must name the race track.

Priority will be given to the name of the horse you tip. For example, if you tip:

Eagle Farm
Race 6
Number 10
Pretty Pins

and Pretty Pins is Number 9 in that race or is Number 10 in Race 5 and not Race 6, your entry will be accepted as Pretty Pins at that Eagle Farm meeting. However, if you provide the incorrect race meeting for a horse your entry will be null and void.

Minor spelling errors of a horse's name will be ignored if it is clear to us what horse you intended to be tipping.

3. Each person's tips are all in, meaning should a horse be scratched after you tipped it you do not get another tip. That's only fair because the moment you tip a horse means that noone else is allowed to tip that same horse.

DO NOT DELETE OR EDIT YOUR POST

4. We need transparency with everyone entering being able to read what has been posted. You will be disqualified if you alter your post once it is posted (it will then have an edited message) or delete your first post after you have posted it (we will see a post deleted message) and make a new post.

5. Leave your old post as it is and make a new post before the competition's closing time if you find out you've accidentally tipped the same horse as someone else who tipped it before you. It's also best to refresh the page after you posted just in case someone else posted the same tip while you were typing it up. In your new post, where you tip a different horse, you will need to tell us:

a) The number of your previous post (every post in the thread will have a different number)
b) The user name and number of the post that tipped the same horse before you posted. This post will have a lower number.
c) If you do not provide this information your new post will not be accepted.

6. You are not allowed to tip a different horse because you've changed your mind or your horse has been scratched.

7. The person whose horse wins at best odds of $5.00 or better as published on the Sportsbet Australia web site is the winner. Click here for the results page. "Best odds" refers to the best win odds. So it is the win odds that are the highest of TF (bookmaker top fluctuation) and the three totes win odds that are published - NSW, SUP and UNI. If two or more people tie then the prize will be shared.

8. Each week the winner will be posted in that week's tipping thread by the following Friday - usually on a Monday. We'll also allow about 24 hours before we declare correct weight, just in case like in racing there's a protest by someone against the winner, because for example, we may have made a clerical error when checking the results.

9. As a condition of entering this competition you accept that decisions of Management are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE.

When your win has been confirmed by us declaring correct weight (usually on a Tuesday morning):

AS A CONDITION OF ENTERING THIS COMPETITION YOU AGREE THAT FAILURE TO MAKE THIS POST BY MIDNIGHT WEDNESDAY, SYDNEY TIME, INFORMING
