Peter Snowden's above average 3YO gelding suffered interference at the 700 metres and again at the 100 metres. It finished second by 0.8 lengths to Kirinata and was a "good thing beaten." That was Whitlam's third run in from a spell. The gelding is at peak fitness and set to win. It now has 2 wins and 6 seconds from 12 race starts.

Oregon Spirit:
Peter Moody's 4YO gelding resumed from a spell over 1200 metres at Caulfield and started at $8.00 in an open 11 horse race. It finished fourth, just 0.7 lengths from the winner Hotham Heights, after being held up for a run in the straight. We expect Oregon Spirit to win this campaign. It has a handy record of 4 wins and 4 seconds from 18 race starts.

Shadow Buster:
Second up from a spell this 5YO gelding started at $21.00 in a 1300 metres $50,000 Class 6 Handicap. It was badly tightened for room at the 400 metres which cost it the race and did very well to finish second by a head to Coroner. From 28 race starts Shadow Buster just has 5 wins and 4 seconds. However, it is worth backing at its next start this campaign as it should be primed to win.
