Many astute punters use a simple horse racing betting system to back plenty of winners at excellent odds, as well as successfully betting trifectas, first fours, doubles etc. They simply note the key runs of a few select horses each week and black book them. Then betting smart, they follow them.

Each week we will give some runs worth noting by horses from Saturday's racing. Keep a record of the horses, bet smart and you too could back some big winners.

Sandown Hillside - Sandown Guineas Day

Mr Slick:
Mr Slick was held up in the straight behind Tolka Rock and had to alter course to the outside of Tolka Rock at the 300 to get a run. Mr Slick was only beaten a short half head. That was its third run this campaign. Mr Slick is now fit and primed to win.

Miss Shamardal:
Ridden by Kerrin McEvoy, this 3YO filly, which started at $19.00, had absolutely no luck. Near the 1100 Miss Shamardal had to be restrained away from the heels of Marquardt which shifted in. Then rounding the home turn Illusionary shifted out and contacted Miss Shamardal which had to be restrained off the heels of Marquardt. Then to top off a horror run, .Miss Shamardal was unable to get a run in the straight. However she was only four lengths from the winner. Don't be surprised if this filly puts in a huge run at massive odds.

Zauberin:
Despite racing wide throughout this 4YO mare was only finished 1.2 lengths behind the winner, Dane Julia, in Mares Listed company. Zauberin, which started at $21.00, should not get under your guard.
