Many astute punters use a simple horse racing betting system to back plenty of winners at excellent odds, as well as successfully betting trifectas, first fours, doubles etc. They simply note the key runs of a few select horses each week and black book them. Then betting smart, they follow them.

Each week we will give some runs worth noting by horses from Saturday's racing. Keep a record of the horses, bet smart and you too could back some big winners.

Rosehill - Apollo Stakes Day

Amianan:
Gai Waterhouse's 5YO gelding, the brother of Desert War, looks to have come back a much better horse this preparation. He fought hard to hold of Calidan on Saturday. Amianan has now won seven times from 17 starts - a very impressive strike rate.

Moonee Valley - Australia Stakes Day

Deloraine:
This filly won the Hobart Guineas. In Group 2 fillies' company at Moonee Valley, Deloraine had no luck and finished a close second to Anamato.

Prince Vilhelm:
Our Brisbane video analyst liked the first start win of this 2YO gelding which unleashed a strong finish over the top of the field. The gelding had also been specked from $21.00 and started at $14.00, no doubt making some punters quite a bit of money.
