Make Money Betting Horses

Many astute punters use a simple horse racing betting system to back plenty of winners at excellent odds, as well as successfully betting trifectas, first fours, doubles etc. They simply note the key runs of a few select horses each week and black book them. Then betting smart, they follow them.

Each week we will give some runs worth noting by horses from Saturday's racing. Keep a record of the horses, bet smart and you too could back some big winners.

Caulfield

Duble Bolt:
This Mornington trained 3YO gelding could be worth following. On Saturday he started at $20.00 and was held up for clear running for most of the home straight. Despite that, he finished third to The Fugitive, beaten by less than a length.

Persian Star:
This Robert Smerdon trained 5YO mare is no world beater. However, in the Open Handicap over 2425 metres on Saturday, starting at $11.00, she had no luck. After passing the 600 she was unable to improve when held up behind Family Bliss and then near the 400 was steadied and disappointed for a run on the fence. Despite this bad luck, Persian Star was only beaten half a length by the winner, Tibooburra Travis. Persian Star has been placed at her last four starts this campaign. With any luck she can win for us next start.

Avionics:
If you're interested in giving a short priced beaten favourite that finished last in a field of 12 another chance, then this Robbie Griffiths trained 4YO mare could be the horse for you. At Caulfield she was sent out the well backed favourite, firming from $3.60 to $3.10. However, on straightening Avionics was checked when disappointed for a run near the 300, then held up for the rest of the straight and went to the line being hard held.
