Many astute punters use a simple horse racing betting system to back plenty of winners at excellent odds, as well as successfully betting trifectas, first fours, doubles etc. They simply note the key runs of a few select horses each week and black book them. Then betting smart, they follow them.

Each week we will give some runs worth noting by horses from Saturday's racing. Keep a record of the horses, bet smart and you too could back some big winners.

Sandown Lakeside

Sacred Orders:
Second up, and starting at $15.00, this 6YO gelding taced in restricted room in the straight. Despite that Sacred Orders finished only 2.5 lengths from the winner, Pinnacles. Sacred Orders could give a big sight at odds next start.

Rosehill

Liechtenstein:
This 2YO gelding started as the $4.20 favourite. Howver favourite punters didn't get much of a run for their money. Liechtenstein was badly bumped at the 900 and again suffered interference in teh home straight when moving out to get a run. Liechtenstein finished fourth. Forget the gelding ever went around.

Onthelookout:
Resuming from a spell, this Barbara Joseph trained 4YO gelding started at $7.00 in a Rating 85 Handicap. Onthelookout was badly held up in the straight. The gelding will be fitter for the run.
