Another $13.00 Winner on Top

Saturday, 27 October, 2007

We rated 13 races on Cox Plate Day for five winners in the top two and eight winners in the top four.

Second rated winners Miss Marielle, $6.00 at Moonee Valley and Gazza Guru, $6.00 at Morphettville, offered value as did third rated Princess Marizza, $8.00 in the last at Moonee Valley.

In Moonee Valley R6 the $111.20 SuperTab trifecta was in the top three and the $1,086.20 first four in the top five.

Master O'Reilly $10.00 winner

Another solid day for us on Caulfield Cup Day.

We rated 14 races for three winners on top and eight winners in the top four which was not too bad considering we rated eight races from the wide open Caulfield Cup Day meeting.

Two excellent value winners on top at Caulfield were Fire In The Night, $6.00, and the Caulfield Cup winner, Master O'Reilly, which had the good bookie TF odds of $10.00 bet. Even higher odds were available. Unfortunately there was a 48 cents in the dollar deduction due to the scratchings at the barrier of Eskimo Queen and the short priced favourite, Maldivian. A pity, as we expected Master O'Reilly to beat Maldivian.

At Morphettville we had Just Flipper on top and it again won for us starting at the good odds of $4.40 in the field of just eight runners.

Value winners in the top four at Caulfield were Tesbury Jack, $11.00 and Lord Of The Dance, $10.00.

Esprit De Danse $13.00 winner

We rated 14 races for seven winners in the top two and 10 winners in the top four.

Two excellent value winners on top were Esprit De Danse at Cheltenham with $13.00 bookmaker odds available, while at Caulfield Maldivian, $4.20, was too good for the short priced Miss Finland.

Value winners in the top four at Caulfield were second rated Pinnacles, $11.00, which was an obvious bet for smart punters to take on the ridiculously short priced favourite Sonic Quest and Gamble Me, $19.40.

At Morphettville we rated five races for two winners on top and four winners in the top four. Royal Player, $16.20 tote, was a good value winner from the top four.

But thanks to the terribly biased track at Flemington with fast and slow lanes all form was completely thrown out the window. That's why there were numerous fluke winners like Dandy Dollar, $66.10 and Arbitration, $52.00.

We rated eight races at Flemington for just one second rated winner. Though Husson Lightning, $14.00 and Bellini Rose, $14.00 both finished second. How we could have done with one of them winning.

Our longshot method for horses at $20.00 and longer odds found Serious Speed, $21.00, which finished second by a neck in the Edward Manifold Stakes.

Please note:
We also provide guidelines to new members on using our betting information for first fours and trifecta betting.

In our newsletters here we have at times indicated how some first fours and trifectas could have been obtained. However on racedays some judgement and skill are needed for this.

For example the same betting method will not work each race, such as boxing selections, or taking the top horse as a standout to win. Some races will also need to be avoided because the odds are not there.

Even with good information playing trifectas and first fours is not a licence to print money. Intelligent use of the information and a lot of discipline is required.

While there can be substantial collects for relatively small outlays there can also be long runs of outs with various betting methods used.
