2. This Peter Moody trained 5YO gelding loves wet tracks, with 4 wins from 10 starts on Slow and Heavy tracks.
3. Two starts back it finished third in an Open Handicap at Caulfield on a Slow track. This race was just a Rating 85 Handicap, so it was well down in Class.
4. This was its fifth race this campaign, so Lethal Arrow was at peak fitness.

Morphettville winner
Manganese $29.40
1. The track was rated Slow and this 6YO gelding handles Slow tracks with 3 wins and 2 seconds from 11 starts.
2. It was back 350 metres in distance to its favourite distance of 1600 metres.
3. At 1600 metres Manganese had 6 wins and 6 seconds from 27 race starts.
4. It started from barrier 15 of 15, guaranteeing "overs."
5. Taking all these factors into account, $29.40 was generous odds.

Flemington winner

1. A 1000 metres specialist with 5 wins and 7 placings from 16 starts at the distance.
2. At Flemington this 5YO gelding had race 4 times for 2 seconds and 1 third, so was quite capable of winning.
3. It was dropping in handicapped weight by 6.5kg. from its previous race, 4 weeks earlier in Morphettville, where it placed.

Eagle Farm winners
Pear Tart $15.30
1. This 3YO filly, which had only raced 8 times, had an outstanding winning strike rate at Eagle Farm of 5 wins from 7 races.
2. It was a last start winner at Eagle Farm, winning the Group 2 Queensland Guineas.
3. So the jump in class to Group 1 Fillies and Mares Weight for Age conditions should not be a problem.
4. It had won its previous 3 races and was fifth up from a spell, so was at peak fitness.

River Lad $18.10
1. This 4YO gelding was first up from a spell over 1200 metres and it had 2 wins from 3 races first up.
2. It liked Eagle Farm with 3 wins, 2 seconds and 1 third from 8 races at the track.
3. River Lad was on the minimum handicap for this Group 3 race.
4. No one told River Lad that because this was a Group 3 race it should not perform well first up at its favourite track.

5. It finished second by a half neck.
6. Punters who backed the filly because it was at big double figure odds and its form at the Rosehill horse race track was far superior to its other racing form just missed out on a big win collect.
