That totals a wopping 164.6%. Then there were the prices for well over 200 more horses such as 10 horses at $51.00 - just those 10 horses added another 19.6% to 164.6%.

As there is no refund if your horse does not start in the race, these markets look like they are one of the worst possible type of bets you could take. The market percentage is inferior to playing roulette where you get paid even money on black - but with only eight of the 18 black numbers paying you that even money. You lose on the 18 house red numbers, you lose on the other 10 black numbers, and you lose on the house zero.
