We rated 15 races from Flemington, Rosehill and Eagle Farm with good results from Eagle Farm and Rosehill where we found some excellent value and had 7 Top 4 Winners from 9 races.

But punters want us to have a go at the Flemington Derby meeting, including the Derby, so we did. With not much success, with just 1 Top 4 Winner from 6 races. Understandable really when many races have 12 or more genuine winning chances and horses were winning at odds of $41.00 followed by the Derby winner at $53.40.

Lucky Lil is not looking for horses at short odds and whenever a horse is below $4.00 it is below the minimum odds Lucky Lil would take.

The previous week Lucky Lil had a massive winning day tipping Dunaden, the $15.00 Caulfield Cup winner and Snitsky, which was backed by Lucky Lil's followers from $6.50 at Randwick.

So it was no surprise that on Derby Day that Lucky Lil's tips missed out. Drinks All Round $10.00 was unplaced at Rosehill. Honorius $10.00 and Hvasstan $8.00 missed out in the Derby and Ticket To Dream $4.20 was unplaced at Eagle Farm. On top of that Lucky Lil's Lay of the Day, Audacious Spirit, won at Eagle Farm starting at $2.30.

Trifectas, First Fours etc.
The ratings found a nice $298.10 Box 4 Trifecta in Rosehill R7. There was a $1,390.10 First Four was in the top 5.

Melbourne Cup Day

From 5 rated races at Doomben and Rosehill there were 3 Top 4 Winners. However the Flemington Melbourne Cup meeting was not much fun. There were 5 winners at double figure odds from our 7 rated races, where we only managed 1 Top 4 winner. Unfortunately that's what can often happen when you have 12 and more serious winning chances in a race.

Lucky Lil gave 3 tips at Flemington, including 2 in the Cup. They were all unplaced. However the Lay of the Day, Altar, did the right thing. It was unplaced at Flemington at short odds.

Lucky Lil's 3 tips missed out at good value odds. Lucky Lil's Lay of the Day was Zai Jian at around $3.20. It was NOT a lay at $7.60, the odds it won at. At those odds it was a VALUE BET!

Lucky Lil's tipped Mishani Stealth, which placed at good double figure odds, while Strike The Tiger ran 4th. at double figure odds. Lucky Lil's other tip, Sons Of God placed, but it started at the short odds of just $3.00. Lucky Lil's Lay of the Day was Ironsteian at around $3.50 at Sandown. It was NOT a lay at the odds it started - $8.00 - even though it lost. At $8.00 it was a VALUE BET!

The ratings found another great Box 4 First Four in Sandown R7 that paid $1,087.90. In Eagle Farm R3 the First Four was found and paid $3,385.10 (Top 6.)

From just 3 tips Lucky Lil tipped another big winner, Classics $10.00, at Rosehill. It was close to a sensational day, with Sons Of God, $6.00, finishing 2nd. at Eagle Farm. Lucky Lil's 3rd. tip Hollywood, started at nice double figure odds at Moonee Valley and missed a place. Lucky Lil's Lay of the Day was scratched.

Please note:
We also provide guidelines to new members on using our betting information for first fours and trifecta betting.

In our newsletters here we have at times indicated how some first fours and trifectas could have been obtained. However on racedays some judgement and skill are needed for this.

For example the same betting method will not work each race, such as boxing selections, or taking the top horse as a standout to win. Some races will also need to be avoided because the odds are not there.

Even with good information playing trifectas and first fours is not a licence to print money. Intelligent use of the information and a lot of discipline is required.

While there can be substantial collects for relatively small outlays there can also be long runs of outs with various betting methods used.
