Welcome to Pro-Punter's free horse racing ratings. We hope you find the information useful. The ratings will be provided each week by one of our form analysts.

From the meetings covered just about every race is rated, except races with first starters or fields of seven and less runners.

Professionals know that you can beat a race, but not the races.

As every race is rated, we make no pretence that this information as a whole will "beat the races".

We suggest you be selective and use the information with discretion. Best results will be obtained by skilled punters.

Here are some general comments on how to use the ratings:

1.
When win betting look for value from the rated horses. Knowing the ability of each rated horse will help.

2. You might want to box the horses in quinellas and trifectas. That is up to you. We do not recommend doing that if one of the horses is at short tote odds. You will get well under the odds (poor value) with that short priced horse in a quinella or trifecta. If you box the four or five horses given in every race, money will be lost long term. Select individual races can be beaten, but NOT the races.

3. Note that professionals often do not box horses for trifectas, but take one or more horses to win with a selection of horses for second and third. They also expertly select the races that are suitable for trifecta betting.

4. In many races there are 10 or more horses which all have good chances of finishing in a place - that is in the top three. As we only give five horses here, it is obvious that five into 10 doesn't go! In addition, we have not identified here which are the wide open races with maybe 10 or more serious place chances.

5. In an even field with 10 good place chances the odds of getting a trifecta by boxing five horses are 5/10 x 4/9 x 3/8. That is just 60/720. One chance in 12!

6. The ratings will do best when used for the rated track conditions.

7. As you can see below, the top four horses in each of the rated races are given in numerical order. An additional fifth horse is given in case there are scratchings on Saturday. You may wish to make use of this horse even if there are no scratchings.

Please note:

This information is for entertainment purposes only. Bet with a small amount of fun money only - money that you don't mind losing and are happy to consider as an entertainment expense.

If you are going to bet with money that you do mind losing, then our advice is STOP - DON'T BET.
