Favourites punters got off to a good start with winners in races two, three and four. They were Our Baby Bonus $1.75 ridden by Jason Maskiell and trained by Mick Price, followed by Beyond Pardon $3.00, also ridden by Jason Maskiell but trained by Robert Smerdon followed by Black And Bent, also trained by Robert Smerdon but ridden by Mark Zahra. Black And Bent was solidly backed from $3.00 into $2.60. Jason Maskiell rode the first three winners of the day, so his other winner was Enzed Girl which started at $5.00 in R1. It was trained by Robert Smerdon who trained three winners from the first four races at Moonee Valley - Enzed Girl, Beyond Pardon and Black And Bent. As well as winning on Black And Bent, Mark Zahra also won on Believe 'N' Achieve $4.60, trained by Mark Kavanagh in R7, giving Mark Zahra a double for the day.
Favourites punters finished the day with a win on Altitude $3.20, ridden by Jordan Mallyon and trained by Peter Snowden. On a good day for punters, every winner started at single figure odds. Philda in R6, ridden by Nicholas Hall and trained by Michael Kent, at $8.50 was the winner at biggest odds for the day.

Punters backing favourites got off to a great start with favourites winning the first two races. They were Paparazzi Dreamer $3.80, ridden by Linda Meech and trained by Peter G Moody and Avienus $3.30 ridden by Kane Bradley and trained by Mark Webb. However favourites' punters only ended up with a small winning day as only one more favourite won from the following eight favourites - Veewap in R7 which firmed from $3.20 to start at $2.90. Peter Mertens was the jockey and Tony Vasil the trainer. Peter Moody trained a winning double. His other winner was Star Scream, ridden by Jack Hill, which started at $20.00. The training highlight of the day has to go to Mick Price who trained a winning treble. The three winners were Dubleanny which firmed from $6.00 to $5.00, ridden by Craig Newitt, Royal Charades $8.50, ridden by Glen Boss and Das Machen $7.00 ridden by Dale Smith.
Betting facts from Flemington, Saturday, 15th. May.
Punters betting favourites had a losing meeting with only two winners. They were Precious Lorraine $3.90, ridden by Steven Arnold and trained by David Hayes and the $1.85 good thing Catapulted, ridden by Michael Rodd and trained by Mark Kavanagh. Michael Rodd and Mark Kavanagh combined for a winning double, as Michael Rodd won on Rain Shadow which started at $5.00. The winner of the first race of the day, Slamming, ridden by Steven King and trained by James Fraser, started at $18.00. As if to rub in to punters the fact that it was a losing day for them, the winner of the last race at Flemington, Moudre paid $21.40. Dean Yendall was the jockey and the trainer was Ciaron Maher.
