That makes you wonder how closely that tipster has watched the racing at Moonee Valley. Moonee Valley is a tight turning track, with a home straight of only 173 metres, by far the shortest of all metropolitan racecourses in Australia. That means hard luck stories.

Plenty of horses at Moonee Valley are held up on the home turn while the leader kicks away on entering the straight. It's all over for those unlucky horses. The straight is too short to give them time to balance up and catch the leader.
