19/9/2003 edition Moonee Valley Horse Racing Track Last Saturday morning on Radio Sport 927 one of the tipping panel said this about Moonee Valley horse racing track: "Moonee Valley is the least hard luck story track in Victoria. They tend to fan a bit." That makes you wonder how closely that tipster has watched the racing at Moonee Valley. Moonee Valley is a tight turning track, with a home straight of only 173 metres, by far the shortest of all metropolitan racecourses in Australia. That means hard luck stories. Plenty of horses at Moonee Valley are held up on the home turn while the leader kicks away on entering the straight. It's all over for those unlucky horses.
