What else happened on Caulfield Cup Day?

Well, trainer Gai Waterhouse brought yet another horse down to Melbourne from Sydney accompanied with a lot of media hype based on its outstanding Sydney record of nine wins from just 12 starts.

The 5YO gelding, Bentley Biscuit, was heavily backed into $2.80 favourite. Not unsurprisingly Bentley Biscuit failed to run a place - it did not finish in the top three.

For years taking short odds about Gai Waterhouse's much hyped Sydney visitors has been a betting disaster. Now at least you can lay them on a betting exchange and let other punters back those before the race is run "good things" with you!
