Betting facts from Flemington, Saturday, 8th. May.

Not a good day for favourites punters with just one winner from nine favourites. That was equal $4.80 favourite, Dubleanny, ridden by Jason Maskiell and trained by Mick Price.

Glenn Boss rode a winning double: Mr Chard in R1, trained by Dean Lawson. Mr Chard started at $20.00. The other winner was Persian Star, $5.00, which was trained by Robert Smerdon. No trainer had a winning double.

Apart from Mr Chard, Sophrosyne also won at massive odds, starting at $26.00 and paid best tote odds of $35.10. Sophrosyne was ridden by Steven Arnold and trained by Michael Moroney.


Betting facts from Caulfield, Saturday, 1st. May.

Punters backing favourites had a solid losing day, with only one favourite, Nine Tales $3.30, winning from the eight races. Nine Tales was ridden by Craig Newitt and trained by Mick Price. Two jockeys rode winning doubles. They were:

1. Chris Symons
on Floramour $4.60 trained by Peter Gelagotis and Smokin' Joey $6.50 trained by Lee Freedman. Chris Symons also finished second, beaten a short half head on Did We Win which started at $16.00.

2. Jason Maskiell
won on Eau De Joie $6.00, trained by David Hayes and Anteros $21.00, trained by Mark Young. Best tote odds of $29.30 were available for Anteros. Jason Maskiell also finished a good third on Seven Dragons which started at $31.00.


Betting facts from Sandown Hillside, Saturday, 24th. April.

Punters betting favourites had a losing meeting
with only two winners, Vivid Vixen $1.50 and Eight Bills $3.40. No jockey or trainer managed a winning double. Darren Gauci showed he is still a talented jockey who knows how to rate a horse. He led all the way over 1800 metres on the winning horse at biggest odds, Forbidden Quest, which started at $21.00. Best tote odds were $39.90. The trainer was Jason Clifford.
