We rated 16 races. There were seven winners on top which was an excellent strike rate for the top selections. However there were also quite a few odd results thrown in which meant that there was only one additional winner in the top four and five winners didn't even make the top six!

Here are the value top rated winners with bookmaker/tote odds available:

Doomben:
Bitabiff, $5.20

Moonee Valley:
Brolago $4.20
in a field of eight

Canterbury:
Cartoon Character $4.60 in a field of seven
Illuminates $3.80 in a field of nine

Morphettville:
Silvercitymiss $3.80

We rated 19 races. The 14 races rated at Rosehill, Flemington and Cheltenham identified where the winners were with six winners in the top two and 10 winners in the top four. Our five races at Eagle Farm were rated for a Good/Dead track. By R3 the track at Eagle Farm was Heavy, so it was not surprising there was only one winner in the top three.

Here are the value winners with bookmaker/tote odds available:

It was a day where the ratings at Rosehill, Flemington and Cheltenham were reasonably accurate in identifying where the winners were coming from, but there was just not much value around.

From the winning top raters, Rumbird, $4.00, offered some value at Flemington. Second rated Nuclear Sky $4.90 was a little value at Rosehill in a field of nine.

Members using the ratings to back horses at huge odds may have had a few dollars on Goldam which won at Rosehill with $35.80 tote odds available. Bopalula, starting at $31.00, also finished second by a nose in the Winter Cup at Rosehill.

Despite the changed track conditions at Eagle Farm, second rated Ready When You Are won with $7.70 available and $15.00 was available on fourth rated Punch Up.

In addition, the Eagle Farm R4 box trifecta paid $782.70 for a $24 outlay. That is like backing a $32.60 winner.

Please note:
We also provide guidelines to new members on using our betting information for first fours and trifecta betting.

In our newsletters here we have at times indicated how some first fours and trifectas could have been obtained. However on racedays some judgement and skill are needed for this.

For example the same betting method will not work each race, such as boxing selections, or taking the top horse as a standout to win. Some races will also need to be avoided because the odds are not there.

Even with good information playing trifectas and first fours is not a licence to print money. Intelligent use of the information and a lot of discipline is required.

While there can be substantial collects for relatively small outlays there can also be long runs of outs with various betting methods used.
